This type of permanent visa is intended for foreigners wishing to invest in a new or existing company.

The Visa for Foreigner Investor allows for permanent residence in Brazil in order to invest private resources from abroad. In other words, for a foreigner to receive this type of visa he/she has to make an investment of at least R$ 150,000.00 (one hundred and fifty thousand reais) in a new or existing Brazilian company.

In the process of analyzing the visa the social interest is a priority and examined carefully, involving the amount of jobs generated and income, contribution to the increase in productivity or assimilation of technology and fundraising for specific sectors. This information should be detailed through the presentation of an Investment Plan.

If the investment is less than the amount of R$ 150,000.00 thousand reais, the National Immigration Council may exceptionally authorize the granting of permanent visas based on the social relevance of the investment.
